How I turned a kitchen hoop into a billion views.
I’m Nathaniel Kenney, but most people know me as Hoopin Nate. I’m a 5′9″ dunker from Omaha, Nebraska, and this whole thing started on a plastic hoop hung over a door in my kitchen. No gym, no height, no shortcut, just a foam ball and a ton of reps.
Those kitchen clips went viral, and they kept climbing until they passed a billion views across TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and Facebook. People started calling me the best mini-hoop dunker alive, so I took that as a challenge to keep leveling up, moving from the mini-hoop to low rims and now full 10-foot rims.
Faith and family come first for me, and I want my content to stay the kind of thing parents are glad their kids watch. The dunks are the hook, but the real message is simple: your height, your size, and where you’re from do not decide your ceiling. I’m just getting started.
